About WebPuck
WebPuck is a site for hockey poolers and fantasy hockey players. It has an NHL pool to play with friends, every player’s stats and projections, injuries, scores, and NHL news and rumors summed up in English and French, always with their sources.
What we do
The NHL pool lets you draft real NHL players with your friends, make trades and follow the points during games. The pool app is in beta.
The public pages give every player and every team a page with this season’s stats, our projection for the full season, injuries, transactions, and the news and rumors about them. The Pooler’s Guide ranks every player by position and pool format.
WebPuck also makes a free hockey simulator with fictional teams, presented on its own page.
How the site is made
Stats, schedules, scores and standings come from the public NHL feeds and are updated after every game. We also check them against the official NHL sources to find and fix any difference.
The injury list and transactions come from ESPN’s public feed, credited on each page. Player photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses, with their author and license.
Projections come from our own model, built from the games played. They are estimates, with no guarantee.
News stories and rumor summaries are selected, written in our own words and published with the help of automated tools. Every text credits its sources and shows when it was published, and when it was updated if it changed. Our editorial policy explains these rules in detail.
Independence
WebPuck is not affiliated with the NHL, the NHLPA or any team. Team names and logos only identify the teams we write about.
