Pierre LeBrun said on TSN's Insider Trading that the Sharks have held talks with Detroit about defenseman Simon Edvinsson. It's only talks for now, but a young blueliner like him landing in San Jose would be worth watching for poolers.
David Pagnotta sees St. Louis as a pretty aggressive team in the hunt for a defenseman. The question is whether the Blues would part with some of their young forwards to get it done.
On the Simon Edvinsson front, David Pagnotta still looks to St. Louis and Nashville. Other teams have checked in too, Seattle among them.
